Amid prolonged discussions and speculations on NTR’s long delayed sequel Devara 2, director Koratala Siva convinced seasoned actor Nandamuri Balakrishna for an interesting project which was announced a couple of days ago without much ado.
The concept poster with a powerful tagline ‘ When Power Meets Purpose, Mass Becomes A Moment’ dropped enough hints that the combination is set to deliver a out-and-out commercial potboiler. Meanwhile, buzz intensified on the technical team of this film as Koratala has the knack for bringing in top technicians for his films.
All eyes are on the music composer. Previously, Koratala worked with top music sensation Anirudh Ravichander for NTR’s Devara. Anirudh’s superlative background score and chartbuster songs played an instrumental role in making Devara a decent box office grosser despite narrative shortcomings.
So, there is a lot of pressure from fans to rope in Anirudh for Balayya’s film. As Anirudh is known for rendering mass anthems in his signature style, his tunes and BGM will surely be a feast for Balayya’s fans and audiences alike. But, there are two big challenges for Koratala to make this happen.
The first and foremost factor is that Anirudh usually takes his own time and doesn’t rush with his commitments. He needs ample time to complete the album and BGM. This might be an undoing aspect for this project because both Balayya and Koratala are targeting Sankranti festival as release window. So, it is unclear if Anirudh can meet the deadline or not.
The second concern is Anirudh’s hefty remuneration. Given his track record and rich vein of form, there is no doubt that Anirudh will quote a staggering paycheck. Due to budget constraints, the team is thinking twice before signing him for the film.
Can Koratala really afford Anirudh? If both these issues are sorted out, there will be a good chance for the heady combination to materialize.
