Calum McFarlane set to hand controversial Chelsea player a key role
Interim Chelsea boss Calum McFarlane has given three names that are set to play a key role for Chelsea from here on in until the end of the season, with Pedro Neto being one.
Pedro Neto’s move to Chelsea has been a season of significant highs and lows. Questions have been raised regarding his discipline and composure during high-pressure matches, specifically the red card against Arsenal that was totally unavoidable.
Like many of his teammates this season, his body language and reactions to officiating have drawn the ire of pundits, including Gary Neville who slammed Neto for his actions.
His performances at the start of the season were impressive and there is hope he can rediscover that form, but he’s failed to score since the 3rd of December in the Premier League.
Would you have taken John Terry as the new Chelsea boss?🤔
Calum McFarlane gives Pedro Neto a special mention
Speaking to TNT Sports, Calum McFarlane mentioned the names of Pedro Neto, Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez as three players that Chelsea need to get the best out of.
“It’s pretty much about getting Cole in the right position and giving him the right amount of quality so that he can decide games of football, whether that be with his finishing or his final pass or his creativity, whatever that may be.
“If you get Enzo Fernandez, Pedro Neto, Joao Pedro – if you get these players in the right position, they can win games of football for you.”

Pedro Neto a controversial figure at Chelsea
We cast a vote on the Chelsea Chronicle back in March about whether the club should keep Alejandro Garnacho or Pedro Neto this summer.
And the decision was for Garnacho to stay and Neto to go, speaking volumes about his performances of late at Chelsea.
Neto even ignored Liam Rosenior’s instructions during the defeat to Brighton, pointing towards the players being the problem at times.
