Sometimes, being from a film family doesn’t guarantee anything, and early success doesn’t always translate into stardom and consistent work. At times, it means more struggle and double the hard work—and this is what happened with an actor who is currently ruling Bollywood.

The actor started in the war drama Border soon after his debut, and the movie became one of the biggest hits of that time. Following this, he starred in several films, only to face a phase when things stopped working. Wondering who he is? He is none other than Vinod Khanna’s son, Akshaye Khanna, who is currently winning hearts for his role as Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar.

Fans have been gushing over Akshaye Khanna ever since the release of Dhurandhar. Over the years, the actor has done several projects, and that is how he has been winning hearts. However, while there has always been curiosity about his personal life, he has mostly kept it low-key and away from the limelight.

Try as hard as you want, but being a celebrity means chatter about your personal life never stops. Similarly, Akshaye’s personal life also grabbed attention. Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai worked together in Aa Ab Laut Chalein and later in Subhash Ghai’s musical hit Taal, and soon after, reports started coming in that they had something going on that was more than just friendship.

There were rumours that Aishwarya and Akshaye dated for a year, but it was after the actress signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam that they broke up. However, Khanna continued to admire her. In 2017, during his appearance on Karan Johar’s show, when asked, “Who do you think is the sexiest girl in business right now?” Akshaye replied without hesitation, “Ash (Aishwarya Rai).”

It was not only Aishwarya whose name was linked to Akshaye. News of the Dhurandhar star being quite close to Karisma Kapoor also made headlines. Randhir Kapoor was reportedly supportive of Karisma Kapoor’s relationship and even approached Vinod Khanna with a marriage proposal for Akshaye Khanna. However, things didn’t progress after Babita Kapoor stepped in, as she was said to have reservations about Akshaye’s career at a time when Karisma was at the peak of her stardom.

In a past interview with Mid-Day, Akshaye Khanna shared that Amole Gupte had initially considered him for Taare Zameen Par. However, things changed when Aamir Khan came on board, was deeply impressed by the script, and ultimately took up the role himself.

Akshaye Khanna, recenly made headline, after he reportedly stepped away from Drishyam 3 shortly before the shoot, sparking a controversy over his exit. Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak claimed the actor became unresponsive after fee discussions and raised last-minute demands, including a wig for his character, IG Tarun Ahlawat, which allegedly disrupted continuity from Drishyam 2.
