Reflecting on the conclusion of her television career during the final production stages, Balfe described the pressure of ending the series.

“I felt so much responsibility to make it right, and everything felt heightened,” said Balfe, actress.

Beyond the gothic drama of The Housekeeper, Balfe is slated to appear as Mrs. Dashwood in a new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility. The film, directed by Georgia Oakley and featuring Daisy Edgar-Jones, is scheduled for theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
