Brentford team news ahead of trip to Man Utd

Brentford won’t have a fully fit squad for their trip to Old Trafford on Monday night.

Keith Andrews held a press conference on Friday and provided a team update for the reporters in attendance.

Brentford will be without Jordan Henderson, Rico Henry and Vitaly Janelt.

Former Liverpool midfielder Henderson has been sidelined since the end of March, while Janelt and Henry have been ruled out since Brentford suffered a 2-0 defeat against Brighton.

“They’re doing well,” Andrews told reporters.

“I’ve just walked past all three of them, they’ve been doing a session separate from the group.

“They’re back on the grass and making good progress. They’ve all got slightly different timeframes as to when they’ll be back, but they won’t be available for Monday.”

Brentford have other players ruled out with injury, including Josh Dasilva, Kaye Furo, Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo.

What did Keith Andrews say about facing Man Utd on Monday?

In Andrews’ first meeting against United as Brentford manager, he secured three points with a 3-1 win.

Speaking ahead of his second meeting – and first at Old Trafford as a manager – he added: “We want to approach this game in a very similar way to how we approach every game.

“We’re very aware of their strengths… they’ve got some magnificent players that we need to try and keep quiet.

“It’s an amazing game for us. I said this to the players: we’ve got three brilliant away games – United, City and Liverpool – and two London derbies at home against West Ham and Crystal Palace.

“We’ve put ourselves in a good position, but we’re not content with where we are and we want to keep pushing.”
