According to Mid-Day, reports suggest that the film’s release may be delayed. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers are contemplating a new release timeline as filming is yet to be completed. A report revealed, “Battle of Galwan is scheduled to release on April 17. However, the shoot is not yet over, and the reshoot is taking more time than expected.”The production team had initially planned to finish shooting by the end of February. However, the schedule was reportedly affected after Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, faced sudden health issues, leading to delays in the filming process.

The story of ‘Battle of Galwan’, now titled ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’, is inspired by the real-life clash between Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh’s Galwan Valley on the night of June 15-16, 2020. Following the release of the teaser earlier, certain Chinese media outlets claimed that the film distorted facts related to the incident. However, neither Salman Khan nor director Apoorva Lakhia has addressed the controversy so far.Apart from Salman Khan, the film features Chitrangada Singh in a significant role.
