Barcelona have reportedly cooled interest in Bernardo Silva which could see the Portugal international head to Atletico Madrid this summer instead.
However, a new report from Catalunya Radio claims that Barca are having second thoughts and that Atletico are now in pole position to land Bernardo.
Hansi Flick and Deco both had doubts about Bernardo and “neither were convinced” initially that he was what Barcelona needed this summer.
His agent Jorge Mendes managed to convince the duo it was a good idea and the move was given the green light. It was decided at Barcelona that Bernardo’s “leadership and versatility” would be a useful asset to have.
However, the move has now stalled completely. The deal is said to have gone from being a “done deal” to a “standby operation” which could see Bernardo end up at Atletico instead.
