Auto Sales Data April 2026: India’s major automobile manufacturers reported their sales data for April 2026, showing year-on-year growth across segments.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Hyundai Motor India Limited, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. reported higher sales compared to April 2025, driven by passenger vehicles, utility vehicles and exports.
Maruti Suzuki India Sales Data
Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported total sales of 239,646 units in April 2026, compared to 179,791 units in April 2025.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 187,704 units against 138,704 units in the year-ago period. Mini segment cars, including Alto and S-Presso, recorded sales of 16,066 units compared to 6,332 units last year. Compact and mid-size segment cars, including Baleno, Swift, WagonR, Dzire and Celerio, reported sales of 80,659 units against 61,912 units.
Total passenger car sales were at 96,725 units compared to 68,244 units in April 2025. Utility vehicles, including Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx and Grand Vitara, recorded 77,892 units against 59,022 units. Van segment sales, led by Eeco, stood at 13,087 units compared to 11,438 units.
Total domestic sales, including light commercial vehicles, stood at 191,122 units compared to 142,053 units last year. Light commercial vehicle sales (Super Carry) were at 3,418 units against 3,349 units. Sales to other OEMs declined to 8,470 units from 9,827 units.
Total domestic sales, including OEM supplies, stood at 199,592 units compared to 151,880 units. Export sales rose to 40,054 units from 27,911 units. Total sales increased to 239,646 units from 179,791 units.

Hyundai Motor India Sales Data
Hyundai Motor India Limited reported domestic sales of 51,902 units in April 2026, compared to 44,361 units in April 2025, reflecting a 17 per cent increase.
Export sales stood at 13,708 units during April 2026. The company’s total sales were 65,610 units for the month. The Hyundai Venue recorded domestic sales of 12,420 units during April 2026.
TMPV Sales Data
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. reported total passenger vehicle sales of 59,701 units in April 2026, compared to 45,532 units in April 2025.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 59,000 units against 45,199 units in the year-ago period. International business sales were at 701 units compared to 333 units last year.
Electric vehicle sales, including domestic and international business, stood at 9,150 units compared to 5,318 units in April 2025. Total passenger vehicle sales, including EVs, rose to 59,701 units from 45,532 units.
Mahindra & Mahindra Sales Data
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. reported total auto sales of 94,627 units in April 2026, compared to 83,894 units in April 2025, reflecting a growth of 14 per cent.
Utility vehicle domestic sales stood at 56,331 units against 52,330 units in April 2025. Total utility vehicle sales, including exports, were at 57,833 units.
Domestic commercial vehicle sales stood at 23,427 units. Light commercial vehicles below 2 tonnes recorded sales of 2,984 units compared to 2,652 units. Light commercial vehicles in the 2 to 3.5 tonne category recorded 20,443 units against 19,141 units.
Three-wheeler sales stood at 9,899 units. Export volumes were reported at 5,470 units compared to 4,970 units in April 2025.
Total Sales Data
The data shows an increase in total sales, domestic passenger vehicle sales, utility vehicle sales and export volumes across all four companies in April 2026 compared to April 2025. The combined total sales of these four companies stood at 459,584 units in April 2026.
In April 2025, the combined total sales were 353,578 units. This reflects an overall increase of 106,006 units, or about 30 per cent year-on-year across the four companies.
