Arsenal are looking to take another huge step towards Premier League glory against Burnley

Arsenal are just two games from Premier League glory as they prepare to welcome Burnley to the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening.

Win here and just 90 minutes will stand between them and the title following an exhausting race with Manchester City.

Despite frustration that the game was moved to Monday evening, Arsenal will have eight days to prepare for the contest and that will help keep Mikel Arteta’s squad fresh for the final push.

Burnley are of course already relegated but they recently restored some pride by holding Aston Villa to a 2-2 draw at Turf Moor in their last fixture.

Arsenal cannot take this game lightly and football.london reporters Tom Canton and Ryan Taylor have assessed how the Gunners should line up.

The big question for Mikel Arteta is at right-back, where he faces the decision of who comes in for Ben White. Cristhian Mosquera is the obvious candidate despite the claims by Arteta that he has several options. In midfield, despite the form of Myles Lewis-Skelly, having both Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard for a game that the Gunners need to be aggressive and free-scoring to get an early lead would be best. Plus, it would be difficult to argue Leandro Trossard should be dropped following his excellent form on the left. Bukayo Saka, meanwhile, will hope to put on a far better display than he mustered against West Ham last weekend.

Canton’s Arsenal XI vs Burnley: Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Rice, Eze, Odegaard; Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard.

Ryan Taylor

It goes without saying that Mikel Arteta will have to make at least one defensive change but I think two will be necessary.

Although there is still plenty of time to go before Monday’s match, the Spaniard did not sound too convincing on Riccardo Calafiori’s injury.

For that reason, I reckon he could change up things at left-back as well as at right-back with Ben White out injured.

I’m backing Piero Hincapie to come back in – in place of Calafiori – and Cristhian Mosquera to start at right-back.

I’d then bring captain Martin Odegaard back in for Eberechi Eze and then keep the rest of the team the same.

Odegaard was instrumental from the bench against West Ham, teeing up the winner while Eze was quiet.

Myles Lewis-Skelly should keep his place ahead of Martin Zubimendi in midfield while Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka and Viktor Gyokeres should remain the front three.

Taylor’s Arsenal XI vs Burnley: Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Rice, Odegaard, Lewis-Skelly; Saka, Trossard, Gyokeres.
