Apple Faces Massive Rs 28,340 Crore Lawsuit In UK: Here’s Why

The case was originally filed in late 2024, but it recently moved ahead after a UK tribunal rejected Apple’s request to reduce the scope of the lawsuit. According to a report by MacRumors, Apple argued that users who never paid for iCloud subscriptions should not be included in the case. However, the tribunal disagreed in a 2-1 majority ruling, allowing both paid and free iCloud users to remain part of the claim. Talking about Apple’s iCloud storage system, the US-based tech giant currently offers 5GB of free cloud storage for iPhone users. Once that limit is crossed, users are encouraged to upgrade to paid plans for storing photos, messages, backups and other files.
