YouTube Playback and Audio Upgrades

Entertainment gets a boost with high-resolution YouTube video support arriving later this year. Available first on models from BMW, Ford, Genesis, Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Skoda, Tata, and Volvo, it enables full HD playback at 60fps while parked or charging electric vehicles.

When shifting into drive, videos pause while audio continues seamlessly. Dolby Atmos spatial audio joins compatible apps, and visual refreshes for Spotify and YouTube Music improve in-car usability.

Gemini AI Integration

Gemini AI deepens its role across both platforms. In Android Auto, it pulls context from messages, emails, and calendars for hands-free tasks like sharing addresses.

For Google built-in cars, Gemini handles vehicle-specific queries, such as decoding dashboard warning lights or checking trunk space for purchases. Meeting apps like Zoom are slated for later rollout, expanding productivity on the go.

These updates roll out progressively throughout 2026, promising a safer, more intuitive in-car tech ecosystem. For Indian drivers, support in Mahindra and Tata models stands out amid growing EV adoption.
