Advanced Micro Devices launched a new set of AMD Ryzen 7 processors at Computex 2026 in Taiwan today.

AMD said the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor 10th anniversary edition will debut on June 25 at $349. The Zen3 CPU has eight cores and 16 threads and it runs at a CPU boost clock speed of up to 4.5GHz. It comes with a 100MB cache and 105 watts of TDP.

The processor is built for gaming and it can run 115% more frames per second than the Ryzen 7 2700X processor across 30 games. It’s positioned as the best gaming processor for DDR 4 memory platforms, making it ideal for lower cost and low-end systems that could become  more popular amid the memory chip shortage.

AMD noted that it has unmatched socket longevity, as its AM4 motherboard socket has been around since 2017 and its AM5 socket will support Zen 4 and Zen 5 processors through 2029.

AMD is also introducing the AMD Ryzn 7 7700X3D processor with eight Zen 4 cores and 16 threads. It will run at up to 4.5GHz with a 104MB cache and 120 watts TDP.

AMD is also introducing automatic memory overclocking via AMD Expo ultra low latency. That gets about 4% better frames per second on games, and it will be available from leading memory partners.

AMD is also introducing its AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics chips, powered by AMD RDNA 4 architecture with AMD FSR technology, which is supported by more than 300 games. The new AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE can display graphics at 1440p.

The 9070 GRE graphics card has 48 AMD RDNA 4 compute units, 48 third-generation raytracing accelerators and 96 second generation AI accelerators. It runs at 2.79 GHZ, has 12GB of video memory, and runs at 220 watts for total board power.

Delivering an average of 21% faster 1440p gaming performance than the competition, Radeon RX 9070 GRE features 48 AMD RDNA 4 compute units, 12GB of memory and clock speed up to 2.79GHz. 1 Gamers can take performance even further with the latest AMD FSR Gaming Technologies, now available in more than 300 titles.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE GPU will be available globally from AMD board partners in reference and overclocked configurations starting June 2, with a price of $549 at launch.

With the new announcements, AMD is clearly shooting to reinforce its commitment to high-performance gaming experiences while Nvidia is tied up with trying to meet demand for high-end AI computing. AMD is touting continued platform innovation, long-term upgradability and expanded access to enthusiast-class technologies.

The company is touting the compatibility of its AM4 and AM5 socket platforms that reduce motherboard switching costs for gaming PC makers and gamers.

AMD confirmed extended support for Socket AM5 through 2029, giving gamers and PC builders a longer runway for future upgrades. PC gamers now have more ways to build around AMD technologies, whether they are extending the life of an existing system, widening their gaming options on AM5 or pairing a new processor with Radeon graphics for high-performance 1440p gaming, AMD said.

“We’re committed to giving gamers high-performance technologies with the flexibility to upgrade their systems over time. Ultimately, our goal is to deliver unmatched ownership experiences for players around the world,” said David McAfee, corporate vice president and general manager, Client Channel and Graphics Business, AMD.

For a decade, AMD Socket AM4 has served as the trusted foundation for PC gamers, making it one of the most enduring enthusiast desktop platforms in gaming history. Across multiple generations of AMD “Zen” architecture innovations, chiplet designs and AMD 3D V-Cache technology, AM4 enabled gamers to upgrade over time without rebuilding their systems from scratch.

To celebrate the platform’s 10th anniversary, AMD created a special edition of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor for Computex, the first Ryzen CPU to feature AMD 3D V-Cache Technology. The anniversary edition is bundled with Carbice Ice Pad, a next-generation thermal interface material designed to simplify installation and deliver long-lasting thermal performance.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition will be available beginning June 25, with a suggested retail price of $349 at launch.

The Ryzen 7 7700X3D will be available July 16, with a suggested etail price of $329 at launch. With the launch of the Ryzen 7 7700X3D processor, AMD is extending support for the Socket AM5 platform through 2029.

Since launching with AMD “Zen 4,” AM5 has delivered one of the industry’s longest-standing commitments to socket longevity and upgrade flexibility. For gamers, the support extension represents more time to build, upgrade and improve a system around the same platform. A longer platform roadmap can reduce the need for full system replacements and gives PC builders more confidence when choosing AMD Ryzen processors, AM5 motherboards and compatible memory.

AMD Advances Gaming Platform Innovation with AMD EXPO ULL

AMD EXPO Technology continues to help make memory overclocking easier and more accessible for gamers. With AMD EXPO Technology: Featuring Ultra Low Latency, gamers can enjoy an additional 4% average increase in FPS (frames per second) performance versus non-ULL AMD EXPO technology memory. These new memory kits will be available from certified memory partners starting June 2026.
