Miley Cyrus is headed down the aisle! On December 1, the 33-year-old singer and fellow musician, Maxx Morando, 27, fueled engagement rumors at the world premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash after four years of dating. A source confirmed the couple’s engagement to People on December 2.
Wearing a dramatic sequin Gucci gown, Cyrus posed for photos with her left-hand ring finger on display across Morando’s chest. The ring appeared to be an east-west, cushion-cut diamond ring. A representative for Jacquie Aiche confirmed to InStyle that she’s the designer behind Cyrus’s bespoke sparkler.

Cyrus and Morando were first romantically linked in November 2021 when they attended the Gucci “Love Parade” fashion show together. It was unclear then if they were just friends or a romantic pairing, but in December of that year, they were spotted getting cozy at the taping of Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party special.
Though they’ve kept their relationship relatively low-key since, they’ve stepped out for several red carpet events. Most recently, in March, they attended the 2025 Oscars and the subsequent Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

A representative for Jacquie Aiche, the designer behind Cyrus’s engagement ring, tells InStyle it’s a cushion-cut ring set in a thick, 14k yellow gold band. The bespoke design has an east-west setting, just like the sparkler Zendaya debuted at the 2025 Golden Globes.
As for how much it might be worth, Olivia Landau, Founder and CEO of The Clear Cut, shared with InStyle, “If the center diamond is natural, a ring like this would be estimated in the $75,000 to $150,000 range.”
Her diamond is estimated to be 4 carats.

Kegan Fisher, co-founder of Frank Darling, a fine jewelry brand that specializes in engagement rings, describes the ring as a “chunky, east-west elongated cushion set in a yellow gold bezel” and estimates it to be about four carats. “It’s hard to judge [stone] color since yellow bezels warm everything up,” she tells InStyle. “Cushion cuts also face up smaller because they hold a lot of weight in the bottom of the diamond. Based on that, I’d guess this is roughly a 4-carat stone.”
According to Fisher, Cyrus’s diamond is on-trend with recent celebrity engagement rings that favor gold and an elongated cushion-cut, like Dua Lipa’s.

Morando is a songwriter, producer, and drummer for Los Angeles rock band Liily. He’s also Gen Z, while Cyrus is a Millennial. “He looks at life really differently than I do,” she explained in a 2024 Harper’s Bazaar interview. “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters.” Despite their generation gap, however, the future spouses generally find themselves on the same page. “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously,” Cyrus continued.

They’ve also found compatibility through their shared love of music. Morando produced and co-wrote songs for Cyrus’s Endless Summer Vacation album in 2023—and appeared in the visual album Something Beautiful alongside his now-fiancée.
Cyrus was previously married to Liam Hemsworth from 2018 to 2020. The couple first got together in 2009 after costarring in The Last Song, and were on and off for a few years before getting engaged in 2012, and again in 2016. They eventually wed in 2018 and officially split after less than a year married. Their divorce was finalized in 2020. Before getting together with Morando, Cyrus was also linked to Kaitlynn Carter and Cody Simpson.
