Alexander Isak has Liverpool fans swarming social media with clear verdict after Inter Milan

Liverpool put up a good fight against Inter Milan in their Champions League meeting on Tuesday night.

Fans were impressed by Curtis Jones, who looked sharp in a midfield pivot alongside Ryan Gravenberch for a second game in a row.

Hugo Ekitike was also praised on the night, but his attacking counterpart had no such luck.

Liverpool fans are concerned about Alexander Isak after Inter Milan

After he was brought off for Florian Wirtz, fans flocked to social media to express their concerns about the number nine still not getting up to speed in a Liverpool shirt.

One fan stated: “Isak! Is off, another pathetic display.”

A second echoed after he was replaced at the San Siro: “Isak has been trash.”

“Isak hooked, awful signing,” tweeted another Reds fan.

A fourth fan exclaimed: “Isak been anonymous again!” while another suggested that: “Ekitike offers so much more than Isak.”

“Isak seems to be struggling to read his teammate’s game and intentions and he’s always behind the defender when they’re looking to give him the short pass,” stated a sixth.

While a seventh added: “Isak just plodding about like it’s a training sesh.”

Liverpool’s best front three doesn’t include Alexander Isak or another key name right now

It was a huge night for Liverpool, who, on top of winning just two in 10 Premier League games, were dealing with the Mohamed Salah drama from the weekend.

To the team’s credit, however, they responded well and put on one of their most solid displays this season.

While it was a good result, overall, it does suggest, especially after Wirtz’s impressive late cameo, that neither Isak nor Salah are part of Liverpool’s best front three right now.

Instead, it looks to be Wirtz off the left, Ekitike in the middle, and Szoboszlai out of position on the right.
