Arsenal duo Gyokeres and Saka are both in the side selected by the Premier League’s record goalscorer
As Arsenal regained control of the title race this weekend, two of their attacking players earned places in Alan Shearer’s Team of the Week for Matchweek 35.
Viktor Gyokeres was involved in all three first-half goals — scoring two and assisting the other — as the Gunners flattened Fulham 3-0 at Emirates Stadium. Bukayo Saka crowned a brilliant display on the right flank by setting up the first strike for Gyokeres and then finding the net himself when the Swedish centre-forward returned the favour.
The relegation battle was also in Shearer’s mind as the Premier League’s record goalscorer picked his team. Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels and striker Taiwo Awoniyi are recognised for their roles in the 3-1 win at Chelsea, while centre-back Micky van de Ven and midfielder Conor Gallagher — as well as head coach Roberto De Zerbi — represent Tottenham Hotspur after they climbed out of the bottom three by triumphing 2-1 at Aston Villa.
