Akshay Kumar, who was last seen in Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla, is all set to be seen in Welcome to the Jungle. For the Ahmed Khan directorial, the actor will reunite with Raveena Tandon after several years, a collaboration that has already generated excitement among fans eager to see the popular on-screen pair share screen space once again. The ensemble comedy also boasts a star-studded cast and is among the most anticipated releases in Akshay’s upcoming lineup. Today, on June 11, the entire team was seen gracing the trailer launch event of the film in the city. However, Raveena missed the grand event. Akshay spoke about collaborating with her again after all these years.
Praising Raveena Tandon’s professionalism, Akshay Kumar recalled an incident from the early days of their career together to highlight her dedication to her work. The actor said that despite the passage of time, Raveena’s commitment and work ethic have remained unchanged. He said, “Her professionalism has not changed, she is still the same. I remember, we were shooting a film where the sun was about to set. There were only 25-30 minutes left, and the green room was quite far away. She (Raveena) had to quickly change and come back for the shot. That was impossible. But I still remember, she went into the generator van, quickly changed there and came back.”
He further added, “A lot of changes have happened in her. She is a brilliant actor. The biggest change being, she was a heroine earlier, and now she is a heroine’s mother,” while referring to her daughter Rasha Thadani.
Apart from Akshay and Raveena, Welcome to the Jungle also stars Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, and others. The third installment of the Welcome franchise is set to hit theatres on June 26.
