Adobe expands Creative Agent across Firefly, Photoshop, Premiere and Creative Cloud apps

Adobe has announced a broader rollout of its Creative Agent across Firefly and Creative Cloud applications, introducing new AI-powered capabilities aimed at helping creators manage multi-step workflows across design, video and content production.

The company said Adobe Firefly, its creative AI studio, is gaining additional agentic features, new creative tools and a unified workflow experience designed to connect ideation, creation and production within a single environment. Adobe is also extending its Creative Agent to Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign and Frame.io.

According to Adobe, the Creative Agent allows users to describe the outcome they want, while the assistant coordinates the underlying workflow steps. The company said the technology is intended to handle repetitive tasks while creators retain control over creative decisions.

“Adobe has always been at the center of how the best creative work comes to life, and this is a major expansion of that promise,” said David Wadhwani, president of Adobe’s Creativity & Productivity business.

“Every creative now has an agent capable of helping them execute across every app and platform where they work so they can set the vision, apply their taste and make the calls that only they can.”

New Firefly capabilities

Adobe said AI Assistant in Firefly is being expanded with new tools including brand kit creation, short product video generation, automated video editing through Quick Cut, and storyboard-based video creation. The company is also adding personalization features designed to better understand user intent and learn creator preferences over time. Collaborative review and feedback capabilities are also being introduced within Firefly.

The company previewed an upgraded Firefly creative AI studio experience that combines content generation and editing in a single workspace. Features in private beta include “Elements,” which allows users to reuse previously created characters, locations and objects, and “Projects,” which organizes assets and creative context across Firefly and Creative Cloud.

Adobe cited findings from its Creators’ Toolkit Report, which surveyed more than 16,000 creators globally. According to the report, 75% of creators consider creative AI integrated into or essential to their work, while 85% believe final creative decisions should remain with human creators.

AI Assistant rolls out across Creative Cloud

Adobe said AI Assistant is being introduced in public beta across Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Frame.io, with a private beta available for After Effects. The assistant is designed to support workflow-specific tasks within each application.

In Premiere, the assistant can help organize assets, rename clips, identify interview questions and assemble an initial edit. Photoshop users can request tasks such as background replacement, resizing assets and layer organization. Illustrator users can automate production tasks including file generation and document checks, while InDesign and Frame.io gain workflow management and content review capabilities.

Adobe also said it is expanding access to its creative tools beyond its own applications. The company said its tools are available through platforms including OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude and Microsoft 365 Copilot, and it plans to extend integrations to Google Gemini and Slack.

The latest AI Assistant capabilities in Firefly beta are available immediately through the Firefly web app, while the upgraded Firefly creative AI studio experience remains in private beta through a waitlist. AI Assistant is currently available in public beta across Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Frame.io and InDesign.
