ABola: Hjulmand has ‘pact’ with Sporting amid Amorim and Milan’s interest

Morten Hjulmand could leave Sporting this summer thanks to a ‘pact’ with the club, according to a report, and Ruben Amorim is keeping a close eye on him.

Hjulmand will be a familiar name to a lot of Serie A fans, seeing as he spent two years at Lecce before moving to Portugal. He impressed with his work-rate and was even linked with a move to Milan, but it ended up being Sporting.

Amorim spent a little over one season with the Dane, winning the league title as well, so the two have a very good relationship. It wouldn’t be a surprise, therefore, to see the head coach request his arrival this summer.

Amorim could try for Hjulmand

According to ABola, Hjulmand has a release clause of €80m in his contract but there is a ‘pact’ with Sporting to leave for less this summer. In that case, the price tag would decrease to €40-50m, even if that is still a substantial amount.

Amorim is keeping a close eye on the situation, as the newspaper continues, and could attempt to convince Milan to make an effort. Then again, the price tag could represent an impossible roadblock, especially since the Rossoneri are out of the Champions League once again.
