The Odyssey Advance Booking: Christopher Nolan’s film grosses Rs 2 crore of pre-sales in India, 5 weeks to go for release

Christopher Nolan is gearing up for his next big-ticket film, The Odyssey. The advance booking has started already, and the initial reports seem encouraging. The much-awaited Hollywood biggie sold over 20,000 tickets so far, making a sum of Rs. 2 crore.

As of now, a very limited inventory is on sale, with most IMAX cinemas having two shows a day open for booking. The “good seats” are gone at almost all the locations, with only the bottom ones remaining, which will get sold closer to release.

There is this notion online that perhaps prices are too high; if not for that, the sales probably could have been even better. Either way, the film has shown a high sense of urgency in sales, which is expected given Nolan is a big brand in India, particularly among IMAX patrons. His previous directorial, Oppenheimer, remains the highest-grossing film in IMAX format in India by a wide margin. The Odyssey will aim to take on that.

For the unversed, The Odyssey still has 5 weeks to release. Given the current trends in its advance bookings, the movie is looking for a banger opening at the Indian box office. The film stars Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, and others. The epic fantasy action drama is coming in cinemas on July 17, 2025.
