Princess Beatrice spotted dancing on a table in £1k Zimmermann dress

We hadn’t seen Princess Beatrice in public for quite some time until pictures emerged over the weekend of the redhead royal at a social engagement in April.

The 37-year-old headed to Italy for her good friend Lauren De Niro Pipher’s 40th birthday celebration, which was reportedly a weekend soirée.

In a series of pictures that the birthday girl, wine-founder Lauren, shared on Instagram, Beatrice can be seen fully embracing florals, rocking two fabulous dresses.

In one shot, Prince William’s cousin posed next to Lauren at the luxury La Posta Vecchia Hotel, located just outside of Rome, wearing a beautiful silk dress by now-defunct British label, The Vampire’s Wife. The dress featured puff sleeves and a plethora of delicate blooms etched onto the satin fabric. A true favourite of the mother-of-two, she’s sported it on many memorable occasions, including a Buckingham Palace garden party in 2019.

The Vampire’s Wife was founded by Susie Cave and quickly garnered a devoted following, boasting an A-list clientele that spanned from music icons to international stars and, of course, royalty. The decision to cease trading in 2024 echoed the broader challenges facing the fashion industry: “Despite a period of positive growth and sales, the upheaval in the wholesale market has had dramatic implications,” the brand explained in a statement.

Her second dress of the trip was another recycled piece, this time by another brand adored by the royals, Zimmermann. Beatrice’s royal relatives, including  Zara Tindall and Duchess Sophie, have donned the label before. Beatrice chose the ‘Whitewave Tiered Dress in Navy Poppy Floral Print’, which featured sheer panelling and a fabulously eye-catching blue floral print.

Teaming the statement dress with a pair of strappy sandals, Beatrice was seen dancing on a table in one shot, surrounded by fellow partygoers, and looked to be in great spirits.

Alongside the bank of pictures, Lauren reflected on the event, penning: “Friends joined from five countries. Some knew each other, many didn’t. No drama, no early mornings, barely any phones except to capture moments. Just presence, great wine, pasta at every meal, and more laughter than I can account for,” she mused.

She added, “I planned it all and yet I felt like a guest at my own party. It was more special and FUN than I could’ve imagined and I will cherish these days and the people who were able to join me for the next 40 years.”
