Maruti Ertiga Facelift – Underbody CNG?

When Maruti launched the new Victoris, the highlight of the SUV was the underbody CNG, drastically improving boot space and practicality. And soon, we will get to see this tech in the Maruti Brezza. The existing Brezza still has decent and usable boot space despite the CNG tank, but that’s not the case with the Ertiga. Being a 7-seater, the third row takes up even more space, and with a CNG cylinder, there’s little to no boot space.

However, if Maruti is able to integrate the underbody CNG in the Ertiga, you will get the full boot space without compromising on fuel efficiency. We believe this is possible as Maruti was able to integrate the underbody CNG tech into the Victoris’ Global-C platform, which was previously not compatible with the setup. So, the brand could make changes to Ertiga’s Heartect platform and integrate the CNG setup, adding to the practicality of the MPV. We expect Maruti to offer the underbody CNG tech with a facelift of the Ertiga, which could be introduced next year. That said, what else can we expect to see with the facelift?

What Else?

With the facelift, we can expect to see a few cosmetic changes to freshen up the look of the Ertiga. We can also expect to see a few new features like a larger touchscreen, a single pane sunroof, a wireless charging pad and a few more. Under the hood will be the same 1.5-litre NA petrol engine producing 102bhp and 137Nm of torque along with either a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed TC. The MPV is currently priced between Rs 10.24 lakh and Rs 15.22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and the facelift could carry a price hike of around Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
