All you need to know about Gran Turismo 7’s 1.69 update

Following a cloaked teaser last week by Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo 7‘s Update 1.69 for April 2026 is now available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players.

Here’s not just the patch notes, but also prices, PP values, prizes and engine swap details.

This is an evolving article.

New cars

  • Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau (964) ’93 – Legend Cars dealership – 567.75pp – 1,200,000 credits
  • Renault Twingo ’93 – Used Cars dealership – 284.47pp – 14,000 credits
  • Yangwang U9 ’24 – Brand Central delarship – 685.13pp – 350,000 credits

The Renault (aka the ‘friendly frog’) and Yangwang (world’s fastest car when in ‘Extreme’ form) were straightforward to spot from the aforementioned teaser, but now we know that this is the rare Turbo S variant of the otherwise ubiquitous 964-generation 911.

With the naturally aspirated Carrera RS edition already in GT7, this S variant has a turbocharged 3.3-litre flat-six engine, lower suspension and the removal of power-assistance for the steering. It also went on a diet, hence the Leichtbau moniker. This stands for light build, and is not to be confused with Flachbau, which is another version with a ‘flat’ nose.

New GT Auto car customisation

The Renault Twingo doesn’t have any outlandish modifications in this respect, with subtle spoilers, side-skirts and front splitter, plus the option of removing the distinctive bonnet vents.

The 911 Turbo S, however, can have a very early ‘90s bumper and a crazy, stupid two-tier rear wing. You can also add back in the front lights, replaced by an air intake.

Meanwhile, the Yangwang can be stripped of aero appendages, just like the specification used to achieve a 308.33mph world record speed.

Yangwang U9 Time Trial

Gran Turismo 7 update 1.69 Yangwang U9 Time Trial

To tie in with the new Yangwang U9 being added to the game, there’s a limited-time Lap Time Challenge/Online Time Trial within Sport Mode. Set your best time around Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in the electric hypercar, before 07/05/2026 07:59 BST, and you could win up to two million in-game credits.

Extra Menu No. 53: Muscle Cars

As with most monthly updates, Gran Turismo 7’s 1.69 patch adds an additional GT Cafe Menu in the form of Extra Menu No. 53: Muscle Cars.

Requiring a Collector Level of 55 or above, this new menu sees you collect a Chevrolet Chevelle, Dodge Charger and Pontiac GTO in return for a prize.

Own these three American vehicles:

  • Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi ’68
  • Pontiac GTO ‘The Judge’ ’69
  • Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 ’70

Completing this Extra Menu will earn you a 5-Star Roulette Ticket.

Buy each of the three new cars before 11/05/2026 at 00:59 (BST) and you can unlock a reward within the Gran Turismo Café.

Own these three cars:

  • Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau (964) ’93
  • Renault Twingo ’93
  • Yangwang U9 ’24

Completing this updated Seasonal Menu will earn you a 5-star Roulette Ticket.

World Circuit events

Three World Circuit events are also available in the update:

  • Schwarzwald League – Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
  • Hypercar Parade – Yas Marina Circuit
  • World Touring Car 900 – Autódromo de Interlagos

Nürburgring reverse Circuit Experience

The recent trend of adding further Circuit Experience challenges (whereby learning a venue and setting a representative time earns credits) continues with Update 1.69. This time it’s Nürburgring Endurance II, the curious reverse layout which, up until now, is only available within a Time Trial setting.

Scapes

Scapes also adds a new Featured Curation: the awkwardly-named ‘Move the Camera Up and Down III.’ This is simply a third collection of Scapes images, where you can move the camera up and down freely.

Power Pack / Power Pack Challenges

A Challenges feature has been added to Gran Turismo 7’s PS5-only Power Pack DLC, with rewards for completing events rotating weekly. This is the repurposing of existing Power Pack events, reminding us of the Weekly Challenges outside of this DLC, to an extent.

There will be three each week on a rotation, each unlocking a prize.

These challenges are not yet live at the time of writing, however, and Polyphony Digital hasn’t confirmed when they will be available.

10 new engine swap combinations

Gran Turismo 7 adds 10 new engine swaps

As ever, further car and engine swap setups have been added, and this time it’s a large roster update. 10 new combinations are now available for the following vehicles:

  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce ’67: 690T-Giulia – 2,891cc 489bhp – 210,000 credits (can have the K24A-Civic engine already)
  • Ford Focus ST ’15: L4-Focus-Gr.B – 1,999cc 538bhp – 325,000 credits
  • Lexus LFA ’10: S70/3-F1GTR-’97 – N/Acc 451bhp – 10,100,000 credits

  • Renault R4 GTL ’85: K24A-Civic – N/Acc 389bhp – 250,000 credits
  • Renault Twingo ’93: K24A-Civic – N/Acc 389bhp – 250,000 credits
  • Volkswagen Scirocco R ’10: GTI-VGT-Gr.3 – N/Acc 551bhp – 325,000 credits

Power Pack DLC now supports ‘garage’ cars

Part of the appeal, or frustration for some, of the Power Pack DLC is a curated approach. You select from three specifically modified vehicles against a field of equivalent vehicles. However, with this game update, Gran Turismo 7 drivers can now use cars from their garages, opening up the possibility for a more varied (or potentially easier) race.

Some events list a PP limit, others a drivetrain requirement, for example, front-wheel drive. All seem to specify a tyre type. Otherwise, there’s a new button, and you can use any car in your existing collection. Certain events require you to use a certain car, such as a Group C sports car, but then omit a PP limit.
