3 New Tata Electric SUVs Launching By 2026 – 5 & 7-Seater Details Out
Tata Motors is currently dominating India’s electric vehicle (EV) market with models such as Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV and Curvv EV. In FY2026, the indigenous automaker sold a total of 78,811 units, registering a 35.9% YoY growth from 57,994 units in the previous financial year. The Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV were the top-selling models, contributing significantly to this growth.
With an aim to further strengthen its presence in the EV segment, Tata Motors plans to introduce multiple new models including the Tata Sierra EV, Tata Safari EV and the Tata Avinya EV. These electric SUVs are slated to arrive by the end of 2026.
Tata Sierra EV
Based on the Acti.ev+ platform, the Tata Sierra EV will be available with both RWD (rear-wheel drive) and AWD (all-wheel drive) setups. It’s likely to feature an integrated drive unit (IDU) similar to the one used in the Punch EV.
While its powertrain details are yet to be revealed, the Sierra EV is expected to come with the Harrier EV-sourced 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options. The EV might also offer V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) functionalities.
Tata Safari EV
The Tata Safari EV is set to launch around 2026 Diwali season. This 7-seater electric SUV could borrow the 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs from the Harrier EV. For reference, the Tata Harrier EV offers a claimed MIDC-certified range of 538km with the 65kWh battery pack. The larger 75kWh delivers up to 538km in the single motor variant and 627km in the dual-motor version.
When launched, the Safari EV will go head-to-head against the Mahindra XEV 9S, which is currently priced between Rs 19.95 lakh – Rs 29.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Avinya EV
Avinay will be Tata Motors’ new premium EV sub-brand. The first model under this new brand will be a five-seat sportback, which is set to debut in late 2026. The production-ready Tata Avinya is likely to stay true to its concept, which was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. As a premium offering, it’s expected to come with advanced features such as ultrafast charging capabilities, the next-gen ADAS and more.
