Hyundai Brazil has released a second teaser of the upcoming 4th-generation i20, revealing more details of the hatchback’s lighting signature and front-end design. The latest teaser provides a clearer look at the production-spec LED setup, confirming several design elements that were only partially visible in the first teaser and earlier spy shots. The new i20 is expected to debut at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will bring one of the most dramatic styling updates in the model’s history.

New Teaser Reveals Production Lighting Details

The biggest highlight of the latest teaser is the front lighting arrangement. Hyundai has confirmed a full-width LED light bar stretching across the front fascia, linking the lighting elements on either side. At the corners, the hatchback gets distinctive Y-shaped LED DRLs that closely resemble the styling seen on recent Lamborghini models such as the Revuelto.

Unlike the earlier teaser that only hinted at the lighting signature, the new images reveal the actual LED elements in greater detail. Below the DRLs sit rectangular projector headlamp units housed within a separate lower cluster. The overall arrangement gives the new i20 a much more futuristic appearance than the current model.

At the rear, Hyundai has also previewed the tail lamp design. The teaser shows a connected LED light bar paired with boomerang-like lighting elements at the outer edges. Similar to the front, the rear lighting setup appears to emphasize width and visual presence.

Sharper Design, More SUV-Like Stance

The teaser also offers a glimpse of the side profile. As seen in earlier spy shots, the new i20 adopts a more upright and angular silhouette. The greenhouse appears squarer, while the window line and roof profile have been redesigned with sharper creases.

This move aligns with current global trends where hatchbacks are adopting a more crossover-inspired stance. While retaining its hatchback proportions, the next-gen i20 looks taller, more muscular and significantly less rounded than the outgoing model. Test mules have already revealed redesigned alloy wheels, refreshed bumpers and a more upright front fascia. Hyundai appears to be targeting a stronger road presence without compromising the i20’s compact footprint.

New Interior Expected

While Hyundai has not revealed the cabin yet, earlier spy shots indicated major upgrades inside. The next-generation i20 is expected to feature a curved dual-screen setup, similar in concept to Hyundai’s latest global models. The hatchback could also benefit from Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment ecosystem, although official confirmation is awaited. Other expected upgrades include a redesigned dashboard, fresh upholstery options, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS functions in higher variants.

Powertrain Options

Globally, Hyundai may offer hybrid powertrain options with the new i20. For India, the existing engine lineup is likely to continue. The standard model is expected to retain the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 83 PS with the manual gearbox and 88 PS with the iVT automatic. The i20 N Line is likely to continue with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 120 PS and 172 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT.

Hyundai currently manufactures the i20 in India and Turkey. With the arrival of the fourth-generation model, production will also commence at Hyundai’s Piracicaba facility in Brazil. The hatchback is expected to make its global debut in coming days before being rolled out across key international markets, including India.
