The broadcast networks are gearing up for for the 2026-2027 TV season with a new crop of scripted series ordered at ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC.
ABC has ordered a Rookie spinoff titled The Rookie: North, starring Jay Ellis, which is expected to premiere midseason.
CBS ordered three new scripted series: two dramas and a comedy. The family comedy Eternally Yours, set to premiere this fall, stars Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards. Drama Cupertino, starring Mike Colter and Rachel Keller, will also premiere this fall, while Einstein, with Matthew Gray Gubler as the great-grandson of Albert Einstein will launch in midseason.
Fox will hold off on the Baywatch reboot, which it has ordered for midseason.
Over at NBC, they have picked up two comedies and two dramas for its new programming slate. In the drama department, Line of Fire stars Peter Krause and Hope Davis, while The Rockford Files stars David Boreanaz. Sunset P.I. with Jake Johnson and Jane Levy, and Newlyweds with Téa Leoni, Tim Daly and Jamie Lee Curtis, are the two comedy series premiering soon.

‘The Rookie: North’ (ABC)

But after a violent home invasion ignites a dormant purpose, Alex battles a lifetime of failed commitments by joining the Pierce County Police Department as a rookie. Policing from the urban coast to the rural forest where backup isn’t just five minutes away, Alex must prove to his skeptical training officer, his fellow rookies and himself that he’s finally found something worthy of the fight.
Ellis stars alongside Chris Sullivan, Karen Fukuhara, Froy Gutierrez, Janet Montgomery, Mya Lowe and Malik Watson.

‘Einstein’ (CBS)


Image Credit: CBS The crime procedural starring Matthew Gray Gubler premieres midseason and revolves around Lewis Einstein, the brilliant but directionless great-grandson of Albert Einstein. He spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor until his reckless antics land him in trouble with the law and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective (Melissa Fumero) solve her most puzzling cases.
Einstein is produced by CBS Studios. Andy Breckman serves as showrunner, with Breckman, Randy Zisk, Michael Rauch, Tariq Jalil, Rose Hughes, Rodrigo Herrera Ibarguengoytia and Laura Beetz serving as executive producers. Matthew Gray Gubler also serves as a producer.

‘Eternally Yours’ (CBS)

Living in present-day Seattle with their oddball coven, they’ve settled into an eternal rut – until their daughter’s earnest human boyfriend unexpectedly enters their lives and forces them to confront whether their love can survive forever … or if forever is a life sentence.
Eternally Yours is produced by CBS Studios. Joe Port, Joe Wiseman, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang serve as executive producers. The pilot was executive produced and directed by Trent O’Donnell.

‘Cupertino’ (CBS)


Image Credit: CBS A David vs. Goliath legal drama set in the heart of Silicon Valley that follows a lawyer (Mike Colter) who is being cheated out of his stock options by his former employer, a tech startup.
Refusing to back down, he joins forces with another recently fired attorney (Rachel Keller) to represent those taken advantage of by the tech elite and help them fight back in a high-stakes battle against the Goliaths controlling Silicon Valley.
Cupertino is produced by CBS Studios. Robert and Michelle King will serve as executive producers and co-showrunners under their King Size Productions banner, with Robert directing the premiere episode. Liz Glotzer and Sam Hoffman also serve as executive producers.

‘Baywatch’ (Fox)


Image Credit: Fox The Baywatch reboot is expected to premiere in January and features a cast with a large social media footprint, including series regulars Noah Beck (41M social media followers), Shay Mitchell (35M), Stephen Amell (6.4M) and Brooks Nader (1.8M) and recurring guest star Livvy Dunne (13 million).

‘Line of Fire’ (NBC)

After a seemingly cut-and-dry case turns into a deadly conspiracy, they must use the expertise from a lifetime of protecting civilians and politicians to protect one another and bring the killer to justice … even if it means betraying their sworn code.
The series stars Peter Krause, Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom and Charlie Barnett.

‘Newlyweds’ (NBC)

The series stars Téa Leoni and Tim Daly with Jamie Lee Curtis as a recurring guest star.

‘The Rockford Files’ (NBC)

Newly paroled after doing time for a crime he didn’t commit, James Rockford returns to his life as a private investigator using his charm and wit to solve cases around Los Angeles. It doesn’t take long for his quest for legitimacy to land him squarely in the crosshairs of both local police and organized crime.
The series stars David Boreanaz, Michaela McManus, Felix Solis and Jacki Weaver.
