Manchester United prospect Sekou Kone is earning praise after his latest performance for Lausanne.
After making his first start a week ago, Sekou Kone has returned to the bench for their last two matches.
Kone’s latest appearance was a 29-minute cameo in a 3-2 away victory over Grasshopper, making it two victories in a row.
Kone registered his first shot on target in a Lausanne shirt with an effort from outside the box that tested the goalkeeper.
The Manchester United loanee had 17 touches in total, making two tackles and four ball recoveries.

Kone receives encouragement
Sekou Kone has now racked up 184 minutes for United’s partner club Lausanne across five appearances for the Swiss top flight team so far.
He posted a message to his Instagram feed following the game, with a picture of him walking out in a Lausanne shirt.
There were several replies to Kone’s message including one from his Mali teammate Ibrahim Diarra, who signed for Barcelona’s academy in 2025.
Diarra played alongside Kone at the under-17s World Cup, the tournament that led to the midfielder catching United’s attention.
In response to Kone’s message, Diarra wrote: “Tienes mucho talento,” which translates to “You are too talented”.
Manchester United prospects Jack Fletcher, Tyler Fredricson, Samuel Lusale, Ethan Wheatley and Bassirou Nkoto all left encouraging messages on Kone’s feed.
It was a collective show of respect for the 19-year-old prospect, who is experiencing his first ever loan spell.

Kone is bouncing back from early snub
Sekou Kone’s spell at Lausanne was dealt an early setback when he was left out of their Europa Conference League squad.
Lausanne were promptly knocked out of the competition by Czech side Sigma Olomouc.
Now their full focus is on the league campaign, and while their European elimination could provide fewer rotation opportunities, Kone is still getting game time.
Another start for the young midfielder cannot be far away.
