Nicole Kidman has been a Nashville resident for nearly two decades, first purchasing a mansion in Tennessee’s capital in 2008 shortly after getting married to now-ex-husband Keith Urban. And, while the Babygirl actress and Urban have now gone their separate ways after finalizing their divorce in January, Kidman revealed that’s not about to change anytime soon.

While breaking her silence on her split from Urban for the first time in a Variety interview published on March 11, the Australian star also opened up about what her future will look like—and that includes staying in Nashville, where she raised the couple’s two daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.

“We have our life here,” Kidman explained about her decision. “I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home.” The Practical Magic actress previously sang Nashville’s praises, telling People she was “meant to go there” and she’s “very, very happy to live there” in 2016. Kidman also joked that living in the country music capital had given their “Nashvillian” daughters a hint of a southern drawl mixed in with their parents’ Down Under accents.

The Scarpetta actress opened up about how she’s doing following her split from Urban after 19 years of marriage during the interview. Kidman, who filed for divorce from the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer on September 30, confirmed she’s doing ok, clarifying, “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good. What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that.”
Kidman said she was choosing to focus on a co-parenting relationship with Urban, adding, “Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
