A man who appears to be Summer House star West Wilson’s cousin was arrested and charged with the murder of their 75-year-old grandmother, Gayle R. Wilson, according to TMZ. Last week, Dakota Sweeney was arrested in Carrollton, Missouri, after police responded to a shooting around 10:30 p.m. Per a press release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Sweeney was taken into custody without incident and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

According to court documents, a witness told authorities that Sweeney shot his grandmother “without warning” after the two of them spent 30 minutes sitting on separate couches in the house. The witness said that prior to the shooting, Sweeney and his grandmother got into “a disagreement about Sweeney not assisting with chores around the residence.” Sweeney is currently being held at Caldwell County Jail.

In her obituary, both Wilson and Sweeney are listed as Gayle’s grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, four children, and seven grandchildren. TMZ reported that Gayle was a stepmother to Wilson’s father, Bruce, and Sweeney’s mother, Kelly.

Sweeney was arrested on April 22, the night before Wilson filmed the highly anticipated Summer House reunion. Per People, Sweeney will appear in court for a bond hearing on May 6.

The Cut has reached out to a representative for Wilson and the Missouri State Highway Patrol and will update this post if we hear back.
