She is one of those actresses whose face every Indian household recognizes, thanks to her unforgettable roles in films and iconic TV shows. Her emotionally complex characters earned her fans across generations.

But behind the applause was a life filled with dramatic twists of its own. Despite her success in Bollywood and television, her journey was filled with multiple heartbreaks, difficult custody battles and emotional struggles.

We are talking about none other than Kunickaa Sadanand, who recently made headlines after joining the Salman Khan–hosted reality show.

Before her stint on TV returned her to the spotlight, she had already impressed audiences with roles in Hum Saath Saath Hain, Swabhimaan, Beta and Gumraah.

Kunickaa’s artistic journey began in Delhi with theatre and television, later moving to Mumbai to pursue cinema. At the age of 28, she made her film debut and went on to appear in more than 100 films.

Her personal life was an emotional roller coaster. Her first marriage to a Marwari man 13 years older, ended in less than three years. Together, they had a son. What followed was a painful eight-year custody battle.

The legal battle finally ended with her son choosing to stay with his father, a heartbreak that left a permanent mark on her life.

Still hopeful, she entered a second marriage and later a live-in relationship. Both relationships eventually fell apart, pushing her into phases of emotional turmoil.

Over time, Kunickaa rebuilt her life from the ground up. She decided to focus on her career, her son and self-healing. She also maintained friendly relations with both ex-husbands.

In a candid interview, she revealed a chapter the public never fully knew, her relationship with Kumar Sanu. They met during a shoot in Ooty where she their bond grew stronger.

She shared that he was facing significant personal struggles, even attempting to harm himself during that period. Their bond deepened and they were together for nearly five years.

Eventually, they went their separate ways. Kumar Sanu later married Saloni and they have two daughters. Kunickaa moved forward too and her latest stint on Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 19 proves she is a true warrior.
