Tata Beats Mahindra and Hyundai Again in April 2026 Sales
Car manufacturers have released their sales numbers for the month of April 2026. While Maruti Suzuki maintains its top position, Tata Motors consolidated its lead over Mahindra and Hyundai to secure second position in April sales. Tata Motors reported a YoY sales growth of 30.5 percent, while Mahindra registered a YoY sales growth of 8 percent. Hyundai registered its best-ever domestic sales for the April month.
Tata Motors Sales – April 2026
Tata Motors sales in the domestic and international market for April 2026 stood at 59,701 units as against 45,532 units in the same month last year, registering a Year-on-Year sales growth of 31.1 percent. In the domestic market, the company dispatched 59,000 vehicles last month as compared to 45,199 units in April 2025. The company reported a YoY sales growth of 30.5 per cent in domestic passenger vehicle market.
Tata Motors exported 701 vehicles in April 2026, up from 333 units in the same month last year, registering a YoY growth of 110.5 per cent. The brand’s EV sales increased significantly by 72.1 per cent. The company sold 9,150 EVs last month compared to 5,318 units in the same month last year.
Mahindra Sales – April 2026
The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra, has dispatched 56331 SUVs in April 2026 as against 52,330 vehicles in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 8 per cent. The overall SUV sales, including exports, stood at 57,833 vehicles.
According to Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “The year 2027 has begun on a positive note in April by achieving SUV sales of 56331 units, a growth of 8% and total vehicle sales of 94627 units, a 14% growth over the same month last year.”
Hyundai Sales April 2026
Hyundai Motor India Limited has sold a total of 51902 vehicles in the domestic market in April 2026, reporting a year-on-year sales growth of 17 per cent. This is Hyundai’s highest-ever tally for domestic sales for the month of April since inception. HMIL also achieved monthly export sales of 13,708 units in April 2026.
