Sutherland’s all-round brilliance leaves India on brink in Perth

Annabel Sutherland’s all-around performance – a fourth Test hundred and 2/14 in the second innings – gave Australia total control of the one-off day-night Test against India in Perth on Day 2. Sutherland made 129, and shared a 128-run stand with Ellyse Perry (76), who became the highest run-getter for her country in Tests, pushing Australia’s first innings total to 323 in reply to India’s 198. She then picked up two crucial middle-order wickets, one at each end of her miserly five-over spell, leaving India reeling at 105/6 at stumps, still 20 behind.
