Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan Gets A New Title as Maatrubhumi; Unveils A Powerful New Poster | Bollywood News

Mumbai, March 16 – Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has unveiled a powerful new poster of his upcoming war drama, while also revealing a major update about the film. The project, which was previously known as Battle of Galwan, has now been retitled Maatrubhumi, signalling a stronger emotional and patriotic theme at the heart of the story.

The newly released poster presents Salman Khan in a fierce and battle-worn avatar. Covered in dust and blood, the actor appears intense as he grips a weapon wrapped with barbed wire, symbolising the brutal realities of combat. The background shows soldiers moving through a chaotic battlefield, while the tagline “May War Rest In Peace” highlights the film’s deeper message, honouring soldiers’ sacrifices while advocating for peace.

With the new title Maatrubhumi, which translates to “Motherland,” the film’s focus appears to shift toward the emotional connection between soldiers and their country. The title emphasises patriotism and the spirit of sacrifice, themes that are expected to play a central role in the narrative. The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films.

The story of Maatrubhumi is inspired by the real-life Galwan Valley clash that occurred in 2020 along the Line of Actual Control between Indian and Chinese troops. The confrontation remains one of the most significant modern military standoffs between the two nations, and the film aims to pay tribute to the bravery of the Indian soldiers who fought under extreme conditions.

Maatrubhumi was scheduled to release on April 17 this year, but has now been pushed back. The new date is yet to be locked.
