Parthiban hits back at Trisha’s comments, says she shouldn’t have attended the wedding reception with Vijay

Parthiban, who was recently at the centre of a controversy surrounding his remarks made on fellow actor Trisha, has now clarified his comments and called Trisha’s statements on him as “baseless lies”.

The actor-director recently issued an apology for his “unintentional” and “inadvertent” comments that he made about Trisha at an awards function. He had said that the ’96 actor should “sit at home” to avoid any problems, a word play on ‘Kundhavai’, Trisha’s character from Ponniyin Selvan. Trisha had later, without mentioning Parthiban, hit back at his “crude words”. “A microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes stupidity louder,” she said, noting that she was informed that her name and photo were included at the “last minute” at the request of an individual conveyed through his assistant.

Replying to her statements, Parthiban has now shared a video, explaining his stance and the events leading up the comments. “A mistake is doing something unknowingly; a wrongdoing is doing something willingly. A person who has made a mistake, should rectify his actions while a person who has been in the wrong, should express his sorrow. In the same way, me expressing my sorrow is one thing, while sharing my apology is another thing,” he began his video.

Parthiban explained, “When I was talking about Vijay and Ajith Kumar, Trisha’s photo appeared. I really didn’t know what to talk about and I was shocked, in fact. It is being portrayed that I was trying to blame her, which is 100 per cent lies. I am not a slave to anyone and I have never been paid by anyone to go to an event, and I will never do that until my death. I won’t join any political party or do anything wrong for money.”
