Munawar Faruqui, who won Bigg Boss 17, has reacted to Pranit More’s clip from his recent crowd-work show. He took to his X (previously Twitter) handle to react to it. Several other celebrities, including Elvish Yadav and Rashami Desai, also reacted to it on their social media. Pranit, on the other hand, has deactivated his Instagram handle amid the controversy.Munawar’s post read, “Stop calling it a comedy show.” Fans and social media users have made their way to the comment section and reacted to it. A user wrote, “But as long as Samay Raina, the king of this style of cool comedy, keeps getting appreciation, admiration, respect, and money, this will continue, in some form or another. Because there’s a reason people think saying stuff like this on a public platform is cool because it makes you Varun Dhawan’s neighbour.” Another user wrote, “Actually, it’s not comedy and not cool at all.”Previously, Elvish Yadav reacted to the controversy and said, “Rs 370 ki biryani ne do cheezein expose kar di: Ek aadmi ko laga consent ka MRP hota hai. Aur ek comedian ko laga har uncomfortable silence ko laughter track se bachaya ja sakta hai. Biryani toh dum pe bani thi, controversy ego pe.”Pranit also issued an apology note on his social media account days before he deactivated it. While many have slammed the comedian, some have requested that the trolling stop.In his note, Pranit wrote, “I understand the criticism regarding a recent crowd-work clip. The comments made by the audience member do not reflect my views. Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of laughing and moving on. That was a lapse in judgment on my part. Live crowd-work often involves reacting in real time, but that’s not an excuse. I take the feedback seriously and will be more thoughtful in how I handle similar situations going forward.

Should comedians face backlash for audience comments?

“We’ve also removed the video from all our platforms, as I don’t want to amplify or normalize those views.”He further said, “I appreciate everyone who raised their concerns respectfully. I sincerely apologize for whatever happened, and I’ll take this lesson forward. I’m human, and like anyone else, I’m constantly learning. Being called out when I get something wrong doesn’t make me smaller but helps me grow. I accept that I could have handled this better, and I’ll be more mindful never to unintentionally support or normalize such views in the future.”
