Luckily for fans interested in this sort of stuff, social media gives us a unique insight into players and their recoveries.
Over on his Instagram account, Merino shared a message and multiple images to show just how he is getting along in his recovery.
“Pushing to be back stronger and enjoying every step of the process. Getting better every day.”
Within the post, Merino can be seen with his crutches while out on a walk with his family on an electric wheelchair. Furthermore, Merino is also seen getting treatment from his wife on the injured foot.

Quite whether the Spaniard will be back in time to contribute between now and the end of the season, only time will tell.
However, the main thing is we are seeing Merino clearly nursing himself back to fitness.
Merino was a vital player for the Gunners prior to injury. Filling in both in midfield and up front when Kai Havertz was out injured, the Spanish international had netted six goals in all competitions.
