Main Vaapas Aaunga will be streaming on Netflix — as unveiled in the theatrical version’s opening credits — which is the romantic drama movie’s official streaming partner. As for when the Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari starrer will arrive on the streaming giant, a theatrical movie’s OTT release typically occurs in a six-to-eight week window. Hence, we can expect Main Vaapas Aaunga to arrive on Netflix between July 24 and August 7. However, neither the makers nor the streaming platform has officially confirmed Main Vaapas Aaunga’s OTT release date.

What is the story of Main Vaapas Aaunga?

Main Vaapas Aaunga follows Nirvair (Diljit Dosanjh), who returns home to meet his grandfather Ishar (Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina) one last time before his imminent death. Ishar, through broken memories of his youth, reveals to Nirvair that he can’t die without fulfilling a wish he made decades ago to the mysterious love of his life, Jiya (Sharvari). As Nirvair digs deeper into his grandfather’s past — to help him attain closure, so that he can die in peace — the more he understands the generational trauma left behind by the partition. He starts evaluating his own “nomadic” lifestyle, taking a more responsible stance.
