Mahindra Sales Breakup May 2026

Mahindra registered total passenger vehicle sales of 58,021 units in May 2026, recording a growth of 10.66% over 52,431 units sold in May 2025. The company added 5,590 units year-on-year, with strong contributions from Scorpio, XUV 7XO and its growing electric vehicle portfolio. Compared to April 2026, Mahindra sales also improved by 3.0%, gaining 1,690 units from 56,331 units. The performance highlights continued demand for Mahindra’s SUV lineup despite increasing competition across segments.

Scorpio and Scorpio N remained Mahindra’s highest-selling models in May 2026 with combined sales of 15,774 units. Sales grew by 9.53% YoY compared to 14,401 units sold in May 2025. The SUV accounted for 27.19% of Mahindra’s total sales during the month, maintaining its position as the company’s volume leader.

Thar and Thar Roxx followed in second place with 10,787 units sold. Sales increased by 3.83% over 10,389 units sold a year ago. The lifestyle SUV duo contributed 18.59% of Mahindra’s overall volumes. The recently updated XUV 7XO continued its strong momentum. Sales stood at 9,338 units, up 45.11% from 6,435 units sold in May 2025. The SUV added nearly 2,900 units YoY and emerged as Mahindra’s fastest-growing high-volume ICE model. Its share in total company sales stood at 16.09%.

Bolero Holds Steady, XUV 3XO Faces Pressure

Bolero sales remained largely flat at 8,933 units, marginally lower than 8,942 units recorded in May 2025. Despite negligible decline, the rugged utility vehicle continued to contribute significantly with a 15.40% share. In contrast, XUV 3XO and XUV 3XO EV reported sales of 6,717 units, down 15.53% from 7,952 units sold last year. The compact SUV lost over 1,200 units YoY, making it one of the few Mahindra models to register a notable decline.

Electric SUV Portfolio Sales Grow

Mahindra’s electric vehicle range contributed 6,343 units in May 2026, led by XEV 9S which recorded 3,502 units. The model accounted for over half of Mahindra’s EV sales and emerged as the company’s sixth best-selling vehicle overall. XEV 9e added 1,939 units during the month, while BE 6 contributed 902 units. Combined sales of XEV 9S, XEV 9e and BE 6 underline the growing acceptance of Mahindra’s born-electric SUV lineup. Meanwhile, XUV400 continued to see limited demand with 129 units sold, down 55.05% YoY from 287 units.

Month-on-Month Performance

Compared to April 2026, Scorpio sales rose by 7.17%, while Thar improved by 3.14%. XUV 7XO gained 8.20% month-on-month, reflecting sustained demand after its launch. Among EVs, XEV 9e posted the strongest monthly growth of 20.36%, while XEV 9S increased by 8.02%. BE 6, however, declined by 22.91% compared to April.

Overall, Mahindra’s May 2026 performance was driven by continued strength of Scorpio, Thar and XUV 7XO, while its electric SUV portfolio maintained steady growth. With Sierra and additional EV launches expected to further intensify competition in the coming months, Mahindra remains one of the strongest players in India’s SUV market.
