On Sunday, Oscars attendees changed their outfits and met up with a bigger group of celebs at the Vanity Fair after-party, where the Heated Rivalry boys’ shirts got even sheerer and Odessa A’zion’s dress straps levitated several feet off her shoulders. And then there was Kim Kardashian, who seems to have channeled that one haunting Miley Cyrus meme for her Oscars after-party look.
Kardashian walked the carpet in a gold-sequined Gucci dress, very tousled hair (which she kept flipping back and forth), and icy-blue contacts. As a fellow brown-eyed girl, I understand the allure of toying with colored contacts (I wore them out once in college, had trouble blinking all night, and discarded them expeditiously), but the shade Kardashian opted for has me feeling as if she’s looking deep into my soul and putting a curse on it.
I’m not the only one. In the comments section of Kardashian’s Instagram posts, some noted the “blue eyes were a bit much” and compared her to the Game of Thrones Night King. One user on X likened her to a fellow media fixture who could stand to tone down the eyeliner: Erika Kirk.
At the end of the day, Kardashian can do whatever she wants with her beauty looks — who am I to tell her brown mascara might have paired better? I just ask that she refrain from making eye contact with me in the process.
