This week, One UI 8.5 activity remained limited. A new beta update for the Galaxy S25 series was expected, but it did not roll out. Only a couple of devices, namely the Galaxy M15 and Galaxy M36, appeared with One UI 8.5 test builds this week, which indicates that internal testing is moving at a slower pace for now.
Galaxy M15 and Galaxy M36 appear with One UI 8.5 test builds
Samsung has started internal One UI 8.5 testing for the Galaxy M15. The test firmware has appeared for the Korean variant of the device, carrying the model number SM-M156S. The device showed up on Samsung’s test servers in South Korea with the build version M156SKSU6DZA2. As usual, this does not mean that the update will roll out anytime soon. It only confirms that Samsung has started working on the next major software update for the device.
The Galaxy M36 has also appeared with a One UI 8.5 test build. The device showed up on Samsung’s servers in South Korea with the model number SM-M366K, along with the build version M366KKSU4CZA4 (h/t: Gustavo Technologia).

As of now, the Galaxy F15 and Galaxy F36 have not appeared with One UI 8.5 test builds. These models should show up in the coming weeks, possibly alongside the “B” variants of the Galaxy M15 and Galaxy M36. Meanwhile, several other One UI 8.5-eligible M series models have already appeared with test firmware. These include the Galaxy M56, Galaxy M55, Galaxy M54, Galaxy M35, Galaxy M34, and Galaxy M16. At this point, only a handful of eligible M and F series devices are left to appear with a One UI 8.5 build.
One UI 8.5 is expected to bring UI refinements, visual improvements, and new features across supported Galaxy devices. A beta program for the Galaxy S25 series is already live in multiple regions. The stable rollout for eligible devices should begin around mid-March, if things stay on track. If your device received One UI 8, it should get One UI 8.5 as well. We will keep you updated with the latest test build and rollout information.
