Who was Manchester United’s MAN OF THE MATCH vs Crystal Palace?🤔🔥

Patrick Dorgu struggled to impress for the Red Devils in United’s shock 1-0 defeat to 10-man Everton in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Monday evening.

United manager Amorim withdrew the 21-year-old Danish left wing-back in the second half of the Everton loss and replaced him with full-back Dalot.

Dalot has been playing as an inverted wing-back for Amorim’s tactical system for United at times this season and has struggled to impress with his performances.

Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim speaks out on Diogo Dalot after his remarks around Patrick Dorgu

Diogo Dalot started and played the full 90 minutes of Manchester United’s 2-1 comeback win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.

Despite being met with criticism over some of his other displays, Dalot put in a stronger shift as a left wing-back against Palace after Patrick Dorgu was dropped.

Speaking after United’s result over Palace, Ruben Amorim was asked if he felt ‘proud’ of what the 26-year-old Portuguese right-back showed as a full-back.

The 40-year-old United manager said that Dalot showed the “characteristics” that he wanted to see, but he warned that he expects it from his wing-backs every match.

“It’s, of course, defending and attacking,” Amorim said, as per BeanymanSports.

“If you have certain characteristics, the pace, you can go right or left because you also can play with your left.

“You need to use that in every single game in [the] Premier League and not just one game and then we drop a little bit the level. But it’s the same thing that I said with Patrick.”

Amorim added: “I know they have a lot of quality.

“They just need to be relaxed sometimes and show that and show the intensity and the pace that they have.”

Speaking on Dorgu, Amorim continued: “Then Patrick, when I see him playing for the national team, he’s scored a great goal against Scotland [this month], the decision that he made under pressure was completely different [to calmly sidefoot home] to the decision[s] he’s making in our team.

“You can feel the anxiety every time Patrick touches the ball. I can feel it, the anxiety.”

Dorgu has been at United since February after the Red Devils signed the Denmark international from Serie A outfit Lecce for an initial transfer fee of £25m.
