Christopher Knight paid tribute to Jennifer Runyon following her death at age 65.
The actress, best known for her roles in Charles in Charge, Ghostbusters, and A Very Brady Christmas, died on March 6 surrounded by her family, TMZ reported.
Knight, 68, who played Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch TV series from 1969 to 1974 as well as its follow-ups in the 1980s and ’90s, posted to Instagram to share a photo of himself alongside Runyon in one of the final scenes of the 1988 TV movie A Very Brady Christmas.
“I’m altogether saddened to learn about the passing of Jennifer Runyon,” the actor wrote. “I had wonderful privilege of working with Jennifer a number of times over the years. There was never a sweeter person to befriend or more conscientious actor to work alongside or a brighter smile to behold. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved.
In A Very Brady Christmas, Runyon took over for original cast member Susan Olsen in the role of a college-age Cindy Brady. The role on the top-rated TV movie marked a reunion for Runyon and Knight, who had previously worked together in the early 1980s.
Not only did Runyon play a Knight’s sister in the Brady movie, but she also worked with him on the soap opera Another World. Runyon played Sally Frame while Knight played Leigh Hobson on the NBC daytime drama from 1980 to 1981.

In a video interview on Nosti’s Nook, Runyon explained that she auditioned for the role as the youngest Brady sibling in A Very Brady Christmas when Olsen went on her honeymoon.
“I met with the producers and the director, and they hired me,” she said. “And I don’t know anybody who would not want to be a Brady once in their life. So, it was fun.”
She added that the rest of the cast, which included Knight, Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb, and Mike Lookinland, were all “terrific” to work with.
“I had worked with Christopher Knight before on a soap opera,” she shared. “We played boyfriend and girlfriend, which is kind of funny, we ended up brother and sister.”

Runyon stepped away from acting in the 1990s
In a 2016 interview on The Lady in Red Blog, Runyon explained that after the birth of her first child, Wyatt, she wanted to “take some time just to be a mom.”
After welcoming kids Wyatt and Bayley, Runyon and her husband, Todd Corman, moved to Idaho and then Oregon.
“I would work in [Wyatt and Bayley’s] schools and teach acting, not to introduce kids to being actors, but doing all of the fun improv exercises with the kids because it helps them get over that fear of being in front of an audience and peers, if they have to give a speech or do a report,” Runyon said in the interview. “My hope was, this is a way to enlighten kids, showing them it’s okay to stand up in front of people; anybody can do this.”
