Diogo Dalot recalled one story involving former Manchester United teammate Fred that piqued the curiosity of Benjamin Sesko over their eye-catching friendship.
Both Diogo Dalot and Fred arrived in the same summer transfer window during the Manchester United managerial reign of Jose Mourinho at the Premier League club.
Fred landed at the Red Devils in the same month as Dalot after the Red Devils signed him from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk for a reported £47m fee in 2018.
Dalot linked up with the 33-year-old Brazilian midfielder in June 2018 at Old Trafford after Man Utd snapped up the right-back from Portuguese side Porto in a £19m deal.

Benjamin Sesko learned that Diogo Dalot’s relationship with Fred extended beyond their time together at Man Utd
Manchester United’s official club media debuted a new series, dubbed ‘The Barbershop,’ and Diogo Dalot and Benjamin Sesko featured on the first episode.
Dalot was sitting in the barber’s chair when the 26-year-old Portuguese defender opened up about his time visiting Croatia and eating ‘one of the best risottos’ he had ever had.
The Portugal international admitted that he visited the country with Fred, with summer signing Sesko sitting in the background on his phone amid the story.
“We rented a boat,” Dalot said.
“I went with Fred on an international break […]. We both didn’t go with the national teams.”
Sesko’s ears pricked up and the 22-year-old Slovenia international asked Dalot: “You were good friends with Fred?”
Dalot responded to his current Man Utd teammate by saying “yeah” before Sesko labelled the Red Devils defender and Fred as the “most unexpected” duo.

Benjamin Sesko tells Diogo Dalot that he could not see the Man Utd defender being as close to Fred as he has been
Responding to Sesko’s ‘most unexpected’ remarks, Dalot simply asked: “Why?”
Both Dalot and Fred speak the same language — as the barber even pointed out in the episode — but Sesko could not picture the pair sharing a close relationship.
“Yeah, but I would not [put] you together,” Sesko added.
Fred lifted a League Cup under Erik ten Hag before the former Brazil international left Old Trafford and completed a move to current side Fenerbahce in 2023.
United sanctioned a sale for the former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder for an initial fee believed to be £8.62m, with a further £4.31m agreed in add-ons at the time.
