Bam Adebayo lands subtle jab against Luka Doncic’s 60-point explosion

Adebayo, who scored a historic 83 points earlier this month, dropped intriguing remarks about Doncic’s 60-point piece against the Heat.

Bam Adebayo had some interesting words to offer in the aftermath of Luka Doncic’s masterful performance to lead the Los Angeles Lakers’ 134-126 win over the Miami Heat.

As Doncic went off for 60 huge points, Adebayo appeared justified about how his recent historic 83-point display was accomplished compared to the Lakers’ superstar.

“He hit some tough shots out there. It is what it is. I know what it’s like to be in that mode,” a smiling Adebayo told reporters after a 28-point, 10-rebound losing effort.

“As people can see, it’s not easy to get 80.”

Doncic played in 38 minutes against Adebayo and the playoff-seeking Heat team on Thursday, nailing 18 of his 30 shots. While he went 15-of-19 from the free throw line, the star guard was elite offensively as he buried nine triples.

While his 83-point performance is now in the books, many were critical of how Adebayo obtained the feat. Facing a rebuilding Washington Wizards team, the Heat star was accused of stat-padding, in which he set the NBA’s all-time record for both the most free throws made (36) and the most free throws attempted (43).

For surpassing the late great Kobe Bryant’s 81 points, several figures have criticized Adebayo’s historic night, including Robert Horry. The former Lakers teammate of the late legend blasted Adebayo for his disrespectful performance.

For his dominant performance in Miami, Doncic and the Lakers swept the Adebayo-led Heat on their two-game regular-season series. They won’t meet again this year, unless an NBA Finals matchup later in June happens.
