Apple unveiled a range of OS updates at WWDC 2026, though several items were held back from the main keynote. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is also preparing to ship three additional, as-yet-unannounced features for iOS 27 in an autumn rollout.
These additions reportedly are a modular, customisable Apple Watch face, expanded Siri integration via Extensions enabling support for additional third-party chatbots, and deeper configuration options for the Camera app UI and behaviour.
All three features are already present in internal builds of Apple’s OS running on employee test devices. The modular Apple Watch faces are expected to debut alongside Apple’s refreshed Watch lineup this autumn. Meanwhile, the Camera app customisation tools are slated to ship with the iPhone 18 Pro, which is also anticipated to introduce a major camera hardware overhaul compared to recent generations.
The extension is expected to enable baseline support for integrating third-party AI models into Siri and Apple Intelligence beyond ChatGPT. Apple has reportedly held discussions with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google regarding integration pathways, including licensing and usage rights required to embed their models into system-level AI features and apps.
