‘A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’ To End With Season 3 On Netflix

Netflix is completing the screen adaptation of Holly Jackson’s bestselling YA crime mystery book trilogy, announcing A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder‘s renewal for a shorter third and final season based on the remaining book, As Good As Dead.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, starring Wednesday‘s Emma Myers, had long been rumored to have gotten a 2-season renewal following its breakout first installment. In 2024, Netflix confirmed a Season 2 pickup for the series, which had originated at the BBC and airs on the public broadcaster in the UK. The streamer has now unveiled that a four-episode Season 3 already has wrapped production, and will premiere globally in 2027 on Netflix, excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland where it will be available exclusively on ZDFneo, Australia where it will be exclusively on Stan, and New Zealand where it will be exclusively on Sky NZ. BBC will premiere the series exclusively on BBC iPlayer, BBC One and BBC Three in the UK.

The final installment will see Myers return as amateur teen detective Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi, with Zain Iqbal, Henry Ashton, Asha Banks, Jude Morgan-Collie, Eden H Davies, Yali Topol Margalith also reprising their roles.

Season 1 of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder spent its first two weeks as #1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV (English) list. After a two-year gap, Season 2 recently debuted at No. 9 with 1.8M in its first week (5/25/26 – 5/31/26). The series’ viewership was down more than 76% (Season 2 launched on a Wednesday, Season 1 on Thursday, so the 76% decline does not account for the extra day of S2 viewing which would make the drop even steeper.)

“I am ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion,” writer and executive producer Holly Jackson said. “As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time…if you dare.”

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is produced by Moonage Pictures, part of ITV Studios in a co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo. The series is produced by Sophie Klein and Sophie MacClancy and directed by Tom Vaughan. Executive producers are Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures; Danielle Scott-Haughton and Katherine Bond for the BBC; alongside Holly Jackson, Emma Myers and Tom Vaughan.

“I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder,” Myers said. “Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout! This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget. Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”
