Leaker says new MacBook is ‘100% confirmed’ to get touchscreen

macOS Golden Gate is filled with hints about the Mac gaining touch support, and a supply chain leaker just added more confirmation that a new touchscreen-equipped MacBook is coming soon.

MacBook with touchscreen is definitely coming, per supply chain leaker

It’s been years since touchscreens became popular on PCs, but Apple has consistently been skeptical about bringing touch to the Mac.

As often happens though, Apple might be against a given feature publicly while secretly working toward implementing it internally.

Rumors have indicated for a while that Apple has a touchscreen-equipped MacBook Pro coming. And more recently, signs point to it being called MacBook Ultra.

Today in a new post on Weibo, supply chain leaker Instant Digital gives a strong endorsement of touch coming to the Mac too. His translated post reads:

It’s 100% confirmed that the MacBook screen will be touch-enabled.

With recent evidence that Samsung is about to start producing the touch-equipped panels for the device, it’s likely that the leaker is privy to supply chain evidence of these plans.

We still don’t know for sure whether the first touchscreen Mac will be called MacBook Ultra as rumored, or stick with MacBook Pro branding, but one thing seems certain: the Mac is getting touch support very soon.
