The initial title of the film was ‘Lahore 1947’. However, the makers decided to change it to ‘Batwara 1947’ recently.According to the Bollywood Hungama report, Aamir Khan, who is the producer of the film, didn’t want to title it ‘Lahore 1947’. However, the new name belonged to the late producer Salim Akhtar. The report stated that Khan met the family of the late producer and convinced them to give him the title.
