Frank Lampard has landed a new role ahead of the World Cup this summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico
Coventry City manager and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is set to appear as a special guest on The Rest Is Football Podcast on Netflix this summer, ahead of the forthcoming World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Sky Blues boss will feature on the show, which will broadcast daily from 6am, starting on June 10th.
Lampard will join Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Micah Richards and regular contributor Joe Cole to discuss the tournament and all the major talking points in football.
The former Chelsea midfielder is among a host of special guests, alongside Harry Maguire, Millie Bright, Patrick Vieira, Romesh Ranganathan and Niall Horan.
The programme will be filmed at Times Square in New York, delivering expert match analysis, special guests, exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from the most prestigious competition in world football.
Following his retirement from playing, Lampard regularly featured as a television pundit, offering authoritative analysis on matches. However, his managerial duties at Coventry have seen him step away from broadcasting commitments, until now, reports the Mirror.
The Sky Blues boss has performed admirably at the CBS Arena, steering Coventry back into the top flight as Championship winners.

His outstanding work at the Sky Blues has brought him to the attention of several Premier League clubs with managerial vacancies this summer, amongst them Crystal Palace and, more recently, Fulham.
However, Sky Blues chairman Doug King made his position abundantly clear that he was keen to retain Lampard at the club.
Speaking earlier this year following speculation linking the former Blues midfielder with a return to Stamford Bridge, King told BBC CWR: “He’s done a fantastic job, it’s been an incredible 18 months for us and for him.
“I am sure he’s in reflective mode. I said to him ‘do not underestimate how difficult what you’ve just achieved is to do’. He’s done huge things in his playing career but to get out of this league as champions without a parachute payment, from where we’ve come from, is a huge achievement nobody can take away from him.
“Everybody is going to get linked with everything, it’s a merry-go-round. It’s a bit disappointing clubs are appointing three or four managers a season. We don’t want to be in those positions, that means something has gone a little bit astray.”
Lampard will reunite with Lineker, Shearer and Richards once more, having previously worked with the BBC and Amazon in a punditry capacity.
Speaking ahead of this summer’s tournament, co-host Shearer said: “The World Cup is as big as it gets, and bringing The Rest Is Football to Netflix during the tournament is a brilliant opportunity to get stuck into the football properly.
“There’ll be huge performances, big decisions, pressure moments and plenty for supporters to debate – exactly what we love talking about.” Richards said: “I’m absolutely buzzing for this. World Cup, Netflix, New York and The Rest Is Football on a massive stage – what more could you want?
“It’s going to have everything people love about the show: proper analysis, big opinions, dressing-room stories and, knowing us, plenty of laughs as well.”
