Samsung has introduced a new range of Mini LED televisions in India, offering screen sizes from 43 inches to 100 inches at prices beginning at ₹42,990. The launch comes as the South Korean electronics manufacturer marks three decades of operations in the country.
The new line-up is built around Mini LED backlighting technology, in which the individual LEDs are roughly half the size of those used in conventional LED panels. Samsung says the smaller diodes allow for more precise control of local dimming zones, which in turn produces deeper blacks and better contrast — particularly noticeable in dark or mixed-lighting scenes.
Colour accuracy is handled by what Samsung calls Pure Spectrum Color, a system designed to deliver pixel-level precision across a wide colour range. The company claims the panels cover over 90 per cent of the wide colour gamut, supported by advanced phosphor technology. Additional processing features — Color Booster and Mini LED HDR — are included to manage contrast and colour consistency across different types of content.
For fast-moving content such as sport and gaming, the range supports a 144Hz refresh rate under Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator branding. The technology works by estimating movement between frames and using that data to smooth subsequent ones, reducing motion blur.
The televisions run on Samsung’s NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor, which uses a 20-neural-network architecture to handle real-time upscaling, contrast management, and sound optimisation. An AI Sound Controller adjusts audio output based on what is being watched and user preferences.
The sets run One UI on the Tizen operating system, with Samsung committing to seven years of OS updates. Samsung Knox handles security for connected devices, while the SmartThings platform allows integration with other home devices.
Externally, the range uses what Samsung refers to as a MetalStream Design — a single-metal-body construction with slim bezels, intended to maximise screen-to-body ratio. The aesthetic is described as drawing influence from aviation engineering.
All models in the range come with access to Samsung TV Plus, a free, ad-supported streaming service that carries more than 150 channels across 14 languages, including news, films, and general entertainment.
“Samsung has been the global number one TV Brand for 20 consecutive years. We are taking a decisive step towards democratising premium home entertainment with our latest Mini LED TVs and this launch reflects our commitment to making advanced display technologies more accessible. By combining technology and AI, we are focused on delivering an immersive and enhanced viewing experiences. As we continue to push the boundaries of innovation, we will ensure that the benefits of next-generation technology reach more homes across the country,” said Viplesh Dang, vice-president, Visual Display Business, Samsung India.
The Mini LED TVs are available through Samsung’s own website, Flipkart, and major retail outlets across India. Purchase options include zero down-payment EMI plans with tenures of up to 30 months, and up to five per cent cashback through select payment methods.
