Prince William Greenlights Family Reunion for His and Prince Harry’s Children Amid Ongoing Rift

Prince William isn’t ready to reconcile with estranged brother Prince Harry, but a source exclusively tells In Touch that he has agreed to a meetup between their kids.

The Sussex children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, have only visited the U.K. — where Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 8, are based — once since their parents moved to California in 2020, reports People.

“Now that the cousins are getting older, it’s becoming harder to justify keeping them apart,” the source says. “There’s a natural curiosity to get to know each other.”

According to the source, King Charles III and Princess Kate pushed for the family reunion, which is expected to take place in England this summer.

“It’s very much a case of William choosing his battles,” explains the source. “He’s still deeply uncomfortable with the whole situation.”

After stepping down as royals six years ago, the Spare author, 41, and wife Meghan Markle escalated an already-simmering feud by repeatedly going public with his complaints about his regal relatives, whether it was in interviews, their Netflix docuseries or the duke’s 2023 memoir.

While Harry also blamed Archie’s and Lili’s absences from his home country on a lack of taxpayer-funded security — insisting it was not safe for them to visit without it — the Daily Mail reported in January that he’d finally won his fight to have their police protection reinstated.

Another sign of an impending playdate?

Former royal butler Grant Harrold told GB News that he suspects Meghan, 44, and her husband would’ve privately reached out with well wishes and presents for Louis’ birthday on Thursday, April 23.

“Harry was so close to his nieces and nephews,” noted Harrold. “Despite everything that’s happened, the issues have never been with the children.”

For William, 43, “nothing has changed when it comes to Harry and Meghan themselves,” adds In Touch’s source. “He’s still keeping a very firm distance there and has no interest in making nice or being part of any awkward reunions. The understanding is he won’t be there when the kids meet and will leave it to Kate to handle.”
